SPORT NEWS: PENAlTIES SINK BAYELSA UNITED

Bayelsa United coach, Richard Bubagha, has said his side have shifted 100% attention on the league after their ouster from the ongoing Federation Cup competition.
The Restoration Boys were bundled out from the annual football competition by the Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Gateway United 1-3 on penalties after full time score stood at 1-1 in the round of 16 tie decided at the Fifa Goal Project ground, Abuja.

Bubagha said his side are focused at preparing adequately for a win in the Glo Premier League match day 20 clash against newcomers, Crown FC at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.
"We're no more thinking of the aborted Federation Cup campaign rather giving 100% attention on the league as well as excelling therein.
"Right now we're working on the league tie against Crown FC on Sunday, July 27 at our adopted home, Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.
"I know we'll get it right in the league and go ahead to achieve one of our season's targets which is earning a ticket to play in Africa.
"I'm certain we'll be able to get a continental ticket with the quality of players and coaches in our fold.
"It was sheer hard luck that saw us out of the Federation Cup as we completely outplayed the round of 16 tie opponents, Gateway United.
"It's unfortunate we're cheated by mother luck in the penalty shootout, penalties are anybody's game and never a good measurement of the strength of team.
"That's why we quickly decided to clean the unfortunate incident from our minds and focus at doing well in the league," said Bubagha to supersport.com.
Bayelsa United left off the first stanza hostilities on the 16th position on 24 points 10 clear points behind leaders, Kano Pillars.
